Busy Day!

Wow busy day in the store today! I am still trying to update our new website but didn't get much of a chance.

Nice to meet Samantha of Jetta's Nest. Samantha came to pick up her order, and it was so nice to meet her. She makes gorgeous children's clothing and these fabulous robot applique t-shirts (see photo below) - how great are these? Here is a link to Samantha's blog - you can purchase through her blog on through her etsy store.

New Website

Just a quick note to let our customers know, we are in the process of changing servers and websites. Talk about a tedious job!
Buyers can still purchase from www.funkyfabrixonline.com but you will find all our new fabrics listed on www.funkyfabrix.com.au which will be our new website. We should have most fabrics listed on the new website by this time next week.

Thanks so much!
Shona

More Beautiful Fabrics

Kokka Fabrics imported from Japan - Funky Scandinavian style prints

Moda - Wonderland by MoMo

Our store has been busy, busy, busy this week - so many new orders of fabric arriving.

The orders we made in Melbourne in November have finally arrived! (ah no wonder I like ordering directly from the US!)............but well worth the wait.

Heaps and heaps of new Kokka Fabric from Japan. Japanese graphics are just so quirky and fun, and don't we just love these new prints. Some are just so Scandinavian in style. Jason and I have been collecting vintage Scandinavian textiles for about 6 years now, and these new Japanese prints just bring a smile to our faces.......many of our fabrics have been sold over the years (lack of space!) so it is nice to see some of these familiar graphics again.
I can imagine these prints and quirky aprons, cafe curtains and chair pillows for your retro style kitchens.........ahhhh oven mits and pot holders too.

We also received a new Moda order of the new collection Wonderland designed by MoMo of Japan. These prints are inspired by Alice in Wonderland and the fabrics have just fab names like Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee - just love them!

We also have new Little Bird Patterns in store. These Brissy girls have been working hard and have created a new Twirly Skirt pattern that uses on 4 fat quarters (or 1 yard/metre) of fabric in total. With us all tightening our belts of late, what a great design!

We have lots of fabric bundles (4 fat quarters) in our retail store that would work perfectly with this pattern - ah might have to make up some packs and put them online!

We have also been very busy (well I have been busy to be precise) changing over our website. After much deliberation we have decided to change over to an au website. Now that we no longer list as much vintage as we would like (one day with more time.......) our international market is not as large, so we thought it may be more to our local buyer's liking, to have an au website.

I have over 900 fabrics to change to the new site, so not sure when that will be done. In the meantime our site http://www.funkyfabrixonline.com/ is still running as usual. You can also log into and purchase from http://www.funkyfabrix.com.au/ but at the time of writing this, I have only about 10 fabrics listed........and that took me most of the morning. Jason worked in our store today, so can't say I had my mind on the job with a bored 4 year old running around the house.

Hopefully we are in for a quiet weekend. Last Saturday I had a whirlwind visit to Melbourne for the day. I took my 17 year old down to find her formal dress and popped into the Stitches and Craft show for a little visit. We took the 5am flight down, so needless to say Sunday was a bit of a right off. We arrived home at about 10pm Saturday night, with a formal dress in tow. Can you believe we finally found one at the last store we visited!

Don't forget to pop into store if you live in Brissy. All our new fabrics are already on the shelves.......now to find the time to put them online! They should all be there by tomorrow. www.funkyfabrixonline.com/store
