Feb Photo Challenge: Day 9: Front Door


Day 9: Front Door
This is the front door of a pharmacy that operated in the Jewish Ghetto during WW2 in Krakow. The man that ran this pharmacy, even though not Jewish, help save many lives during this time. He was the only non-Jew allowed to reside inside the Ghetto. In view of this front door was the square where the Jewish people had to wait in line to be transported to Auschwitz to the gas chambers, but many were shot on the spot in the square. 
 I took this photo on our recent holiday.
