May is here and so is the countdown!

May is here, so the countdown til we leave for the Spring Quilt Market in Salt Lake City has begun!


We leave Monday week - eekk!  10 days without my babies, 10 days of alone time with Mr FF not to mention fabric, fabric and more fabric!  


I think the most exciting thing will be the Sample Spree night where us retailers get to grab (and by the sounds of things, GRAB is the correct word) fabrics not yet released to the market.  This will be a great opportunity to get our hands on fat quarter packs to pass onto our customers, so you will be the first in Australia with the latest and greatest!


We will also be attending some informative classes by designers such as Valori Wells - how exciting is that?  We will get a chance to meet and mingle with most of the well know fabric designers in the US! I will be sure to take lots of pics for you all.


In the meantime, in the countdown to our trip we have some great giveaways.  First one up is a fat quarter pack of the gorgeous new organic fabric Pick A Bunch in the Orchid colourway (as shown above).

We will be opening this coming Thursday so pop in for last minute supplies to tide you over the break! (10 til 2)

We will then be open usual trading hours after Easter

Ofcourse are online store is open over the whole break and we will be posting all orders during regular Aust Post trading hours.

Vintage fabric of the week!

Our vintage fabric of the week!


As you may know, we have been avid collectors of vintage fabric for many years (it is how Funky Fabric all began! ) Back in the beginning we were Atomic Textiles and sold mainly vintage fabric to many collectors, movie studios, galleries and decorators world wide.  Well, we still have bolts, and bolts, and bolts of vintage fabric!  Some we will never sell, other pieces we can manage to part with.
If you live in Brisbane you can pop into our store and view many of the vintage fabrics.  Unfortunately I have yet to find time to list them online but hopefully we will be able to update our vintage fabric website later in the year.
We will be listing a "vintage fabric of the week" each Monday.  You can pop me an email if you are interested in purchasing or you can visit our retail store.


This week's fabric is a Dekoplus fabric (from the Netherlands).  This gorgeous bold fabric is circa late 1960s and is in mint condition.  Unused and perfect, still on the bolt.  Fabric is 100% medium weight cotton and is 120cm in width.
Price is $45 per half metre plus registered post costs.
