Quick Trip to NZ!

We just had a wonderful weekend on the South Island of New Zealand.

Lots of fantastic scenery as usual. We were lucky enough to have heaps of snow to play in yesterday, around Oxford, not far from Christchurch.

A vast difference to Brissy weather today. Great to be home - and back to work and to my big kids that were left at home.

Lots and lots of orders to pack from the weekend - thank you!

How gorgeous is the new Madison Skirt Pattern by Little Bird Patterns? Super easy to make, with full sized pattern and detailed step by step instructions. If you are a beginner sewer, Little Bird Patters are ideal. Even I can use them!

This skirt has 3 variations, tiered, exposed seams tiered and traditional A-line. It is made to sit just below the waist and falls to just below the knee. If you would like to make a shorter version you can leave out the bottom tier to make a little mini version.

Ok, blogs have been a little less frequent of late since I have discovered Twitter!

I did come across a wonderful website run by Brissy mum Siobhan http://www.detailsdetails.com.au/ If you are having a party or even thinking about having one please check this website out, it is full of goregeous goodies to help with party planning.

My little boys particular favourite was the pirate section (naturally). What else is there for a 4 year old, well apart from dinosaurs and monsters.

Great news for those with little boys, Blue Zoo is back in stock. The ever popular fabric by Alexander Henry has been reprinted and is already out of stock. We were lucky enough to secure a few bolts!

Have some wonderful new Robert Kaufman kids fabrics coming in later in the week, so will photograph them when they arrive. Children's fabric seems to be taking over our retail store, but with so many wonderful choices, they are hard to resist.

Mothers Day Classic

Great to see so many people turn out for the Mothers Day Classic to raise money for Breast Cancer. Over 80,000 people attended all over Australia and over $5million was raised - just wonderful!!

I hope you all had a wonderful Mothers Day. I had a lovely day with my 4 beautiful children.

Mothers Day is tinged with sadness for us though. We lost my sister-in-law Louise, early last year to breast cancer, she was only 41. I took her daughter to the movies us yesterday. Nothing can ease the pain of spending Mothers Day without your mother, but I hope we helped in a little way.

I am lucky enough, at the age of 44, to still have my mother and my grandmother.
